It took nearly a decade to come to fruition, but today's development finally puts those requests to rest. Since that time, many fans have just been eager to see Stranglehold become available once again for sale in a digital format. Unfortunately, Midway ended up going bankrupt a few years later in 2009 and the project was canned. Stranglehold was well-received by many critics when it came out and a sequel called Gun Runner was planned to be in the works. The game prominently featured abilities such as bullet-time which was previously made popular in the Max Payne series. Stranglehold was meant to be a video game sequel to Hard Boiled, one of Woo's most popular films, and as such was very cinematic in its presentation. If you're unfamiliar with Stranglehold, it was a shooter that was helped produced by famed Chinese actor John Woo.
